On July 14 2007 I held a small informal wedding at the Cartwheel for 35 day guests and 100 evening guests. After visiting the restaurant many times before I was confident that the staff and atmosphere would suit my needs perfectly, I have never had a bad experience here and feel that is an important factor when choosing a venue for such a special occasion.

My wedding day was perfect,from the bucks fizz welcome to the Disco in the evening, the place looked stunning and was decorated exactly to my specifications. Everyone commented on the menu selection for our sit down meal and couldn't believe how wonderful the food was, people from the reception are still visiting the Cartwheel now on a regular occasions.

The staff are incredibly friendly and approachable and the management are professional with impeccable standards yet warm and welcoming.

Recently we visited the Cartwheel Restaurant in Brookhouse during a trip from Australia to visit friends and family.

We where impressed with the character and charm of the bar and small dining room (don’t get that down under) and the size and facilities of the large dining room. The food was well presented, very tasty and lots of it. Our son was taken with the “Orkshire Pud” (not too good with his Ys yet).The staff are all friendly and go out of their way to make sure that the vist to the Cartwheel is a positive one.

I love The Cartwheel and make sure I go there at least once every time I’m in the area.The food is great traditional country food, beautifully cooked and presented and the servings are huge.I’m not from the Brookhouse area, which means I don’t get to The Cartwheel as often as I want to, but every time I visit, the staff always seem to remember me and my family and greet us like old friends.They go out of their way to make sure that everyone in our party has a brilliant dining experience every time, and they are also really good with my 7 year old son. He loves going to The Cartwheel for a special meal.The choice of dishes is really good, and the wine list is excellent, with very reasonable drink prices.A great restaurant in a beautiful old building, with superb food and friendly staff, what more could you want ?

We visited the cartwheel last week. Set in a little quaint village the place has lots of charm and character.We were met by friendly staff and the service was second to none. There was lots of variety to choose from the menu and the food was excellent and would recommend it. We will be definately going again very soon.

Just a note to say how much we all enjoyed the New Years Eve black and white ball.We always like to do something extra special New year and this fitted the bill perfectly.The evening was wonderful with superb attention to detail on everything and the food excellent.The waiting staff worked very hard all night and nothing was too much trouble,all in all a brilliant evening.Many thanks also for all getting together and sorting our taxi problem out,we were extremely touched by the kindness of 2 of your staff who volunteered and got us all safely home(after our pre-booked taxi failed to show up!!)Thanks again for a fabulous time.
